Some properties of n-capable and n-perfect groups
In this article we introduce the notion of n-capable groups. It is shown that every group G admits a uniquely determined subgroup (〖Z^n)〗^* (G) which is a characteristic subgroup and lies in the n-centre subgroup of the group G. This is the smallest subgroup of G whose factor group is n-capable. Moreover, some properties of n-central extension will be studied.
متن کاملOn Some Properties of Symmetrical Perfect Sets
1. Sets of multiplicity of trigonometrical series. We shall consider, throughout the paper, symmetrical perfect sets, that is, sets which are obtained, in the closed interval (0, 2w) by the following process. We divide the interval in three parts of lengths proportional to £1, 1 —2^i, £i, and we remove the central open interval. In the second operation we divide each one of the two intervals le...
متن کاملPerfect Codes on Some Ordered Sets
Using the concept of codes on ordered sets introduced by Brualdi, Graves and Lawrence, we consider perfect codes on the ordinal sum of two ordered sets, the standard ordered sets and the disjoint sum of two chains. In the classical coding theory all perfect codes are completely described in terms of parameters (cf. [2, 3]). They are mathematically interesting structures. Brualdi et al. [1] rece...
متن کاملIndex Sets of some Computable Groups
1 Acknowledgements I would first like to thank my advisor Professor Karen Lange. She has quite literally taught me everything I know about computability. She has helped me develop as not only a math researcher, but also a writer and presenter. I would also like to thank NSF grant DMS-1100604 for funding summer research that was instrumental in helping me complete this thesis. I would also like ...
